Elena Sisti
Elena grew up in Latin America, in Argentina, Colombia, Panama, Peru and Ecuador. Her parents took her to Somalia and Iran too, so she has broad experience of life in low-income countries.
She went to High School in Sao Paolo (Brazil), and then took a four-year degree in Economics at Bocconi University, Milan. From there she came to London to do an MSc at the London School of Economics; and gain an ACCA Certified Diploma in Accounting and Finance. At Bloomberg's from 1999-2001 she was team leader, responsible for Mediterranean markets. She took time out to have a child, and then joined the new economics foundation (nef) in 2003, to work on international finance and debt. She has acted as a consultant for other NGOs, including Action Aid. She speaks Italian, Spanish (mother tongue), Portuguese and English.
