Our Team

Ours is a dynamic, professional, hard-working team with big achievements to their credit. But they're human too: approachable, keen and above all, committed.

Jo Jamison

jo---2 Jo is Advocacy International’s Executive Assistant. As well as assisting Ann Pettifor, Jo uses her experience in radio and television production to devise and produce relevant material through video, audio and Web 2.0.

Jo’s passion is engaging the public with topical issues. After finishing her BA and MA degrees at the Universities of Durham and Sheffield, Jo has worked for the education charity, Project Trust and was a postgraduate researcher at University College London. Here she carried out research on gender and education in the Palestinian population in Israel. Committed to making research accesible to the public rather than just academic and policy audiences, she turned to freelance radio and television journalism, working on factual productions for BBC Radio Four, the BBC World Service and Channel Four.

Through her career, Jo has worked in Palestine/Israel, Morocco, Mauritania, China, Guyana and Egypt and speaks Arabic and Portuguese. Jo joined the team at Advocacy International in June 2007.
