The dinner was hosted by Queen Rania al Abdallah of Jordan, and speakers included Sarah Brown of the UK, Indra K. Nooyi - CEO of PepsiCo, Wendi Murdoch, Annie Lennox and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala - former Nigerian finance minister. Also present were Liya Kebede, supermodel, Mary Robinson, formerly President of Ireland and UN High Commissioner on Human Rights, Maria Eitel, President of the Nike Foundation (working on the empowerment of women); Shriti Vadera (Government Minister at the UK’s Department of Trade and Industry dept.) Rebekah Wade, editor of the UK’s biggest circulation newspaper, the Sun, Ann Venemen, head of UNICEF, Barbara Stocking CEO of OXFAM, Jasmin Whitebread, CEO of Save the Children, UK; Tessa Jowell, UK Minister for the Olympics, Emma Thompson, actress, Cherie Booth, wife of Tony Blair.
