Operation Noah
At the end of 2006, Advocacy International’s Director, Ann Pettifor, was appointed as adviser and campaign director for Operation Noah, a campaign against climate change. As campaign director, Ann will oversee the development of Operation Noah’s strategy, profile and actions. The campaign calls on world leaders and all individuals to act to cut carbon emissions to a level which is safe for all life on the planet; and in a way which is fair for all the world’s people.
In July 2007, Operation Noah launched its new website with a campaign calling on the British Prime Minister to exercise bold leadership on tackling climate change.
Operation Noah was founded as a joint project of two Christian organisations - Christian Ecology Link (CEL), and the Environmental Issues Network of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland(CTBI). David Pickering, chairperson of Operation Noah said:
“We are delighted to announce that Ann Pettifor will bring her extensive experience of campaigning and advocacy to the vital cause of climate change”.
