Advocacy International in Haiti: defending and strengthening local democracy

Ai's Director Jeremy Smith was invited to Haiti as part of an international local government mission to help reconstruct a functioning local government system in the aftermath of the January 2010 earthquake.


Jeremy Smith was the main author of "Decentralised development cooperation - European perspectives", a publication designed to showcase the role, cost-effectiveness and value of partnerships between cities, towns and regions in Europe with their counterparts in lower-income countries.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation

Ai was commissioned by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to review the state of pro-poor advocacy in low income countries .

Queen Rania of Jordan and WANA Forum

At the invitation of Queen Rania of Jordan, Ai's director Ann Pettifor joined a task force advising the Queen on a strategy to build bridges between women and children in the Middle East and the West.
